Hello, my name is ...
Mike Fouts and I want to use my first blog entry Citrix Community to introduce myself, my new role as a channel Chief Americas and my vision for the future of our channel program.
my background
I spent 17 years in the technology industry, and experience covers many sectors, including health, finance , sports and software. I'm not new to Citrix as a company; in the last 10+ years at Citrix, I have held several positions here and most recently served as director of sales and services for the Southeastern United States. I'm also no stranger to the chain. Before my time as principal, I was director for channel development and recruitment, and also worked for one of our distribution partners, a gold partner in New Jersey. I earned a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Trinity University. I live in Coral Springs, Florida with my wife, Kathy, and two children, Samantha and Davis. In my free time I like to play golf and foolishly hoping that the Indianapolis Colts win at least one game this season.
My role
As senior director of Americas Channels and Field Operations for Citrix, I serve as a Channel Chief Americas and I am responsible for the conduct of strategy and successful execution go-to-market for the Americas region. I also run marketing teams for the Americas and it is my duty to work closely with the Citrix channel to enable virtualization and cloud computing.
My vision for the channel
The main objective of the Citrix channel program will continue to focus on providing innovative programs, solutions and resources that Citrix enterprise more profitable for the channel community. All previous Channel Chiefs Citrix operated under this guiding principle, including my immediate predecessor, Craig Stillwell, and I intend to uphold that tradition.
But in this wider field, I want to highlight three specific areas of focus in 2012:
- We will continue to equip partners with innovative resources they need to sell more products more profitably. We listened to our partners carefully, and next year we will make some new tools and information available to our community partners. They enable our distribution partners to take full advantage of the growing interest and demand for virtualization solutions.
- We will continue to find ways to facilitate collaboration between partners and organization of Citrix sales. After spending the last 15 quarters running a sales organization on the ground, I understand the importance of alignment and field engagement. It is important to me that we increase our efforts on identifying and implementing strategies to improve the alignment between our partners and internal sales teams.
- We made some exciting announcements at the Barcelona Summit last month. An important area centered on the establishment of an SME-focused certification partners. As part of this, we will expand our sales efforts via channel to customers in the SMB market. With the acquisition of Kaviza, we now have another virtualization solution of crises this market segment. We plan to work with our partners to aggressively target businesses with our complete range of solutions that include VDI-in-a-Box, easy, affordable, all-in-one virtual desktop solution designed specifically for small and medium companies, as well as the undisputed industry leader XenDesktop and XenApp products.
Please keep me and this blog page follow as we roll out new programs, tools and processes to Citrix Americas Channel, with blogs invited other members of the team direction of the channel.
