Go beyond device and entity level - Authorization

In the previous blog (/ blogs / 2012/03/02 / get-command-center-get-smooth-sharp -and-an- intelligent authorization-setup-in-your-deployment /), we covered how to get the entity and the level of the unit through authorization Command Center. In this blog, we'll see, using Command Center how we can allow users to specific message types as well.

You insulate administrative access to different users to manage Citrix NetScaler devices like, SDX, repeaters and Branch AGED individually. Now, ideally with Command Center to manage all these devices in your deployment, you would reflect the same level of segregation between these directors through Command Center as well. To do this, using Command Center you deploy the device level and, if necessary, the entity-level authorization and creating groups and configuration Advanced Settings (as mentioned in the previous blog: / blogs / 2012/03/02 / get-command-center-get-smooth and strong-a-smart-authorization-setup-in-your-deployment /).

With Command Center, you can even allow these users to be able to view only a set of alarms. This will allow the particular user to be able to display not only an alarm of the specific device, but only the specific types of alarm it needs to ensure that does not go unnoticed.

Let's see how we can configure it.

Step 1: Go To Faults Alarms >>

Step 2: Click description [ the type of alarm you want to assign. In this case, we selected Down Entity Class 10.102.40.16 Source

Step 3 :. Click Assign and select the user name. Click OK .

The root administrator will also be able to see the history of the people assignment for this specific type of alarm (as outlined below).

If, for users of the summons, simply click unpick (as shown above) present in the upper right of the window.

With these simple steps we awarded Down Entity type 10.102.40.16 alarm to the user device, named adam . This will allow adam to be able to view only Down Entity type 10.102.40.16 device under Faults >> alarm Alarms.

This feature adds another granular permission level that can be facilitated by Command Center!
