The Citrix Partner Elite Academy, a program designed to help Citrix partners in their changing role within the IT industry, has trained more than 500 sales professionals in the UK, Ireland and Africa South since its launch in March 2010. This number should increase to 0 by the end of December 2011.

It quickly became clear that the benefits of the program could prove invaluable to our community partners, help sales professionals develop confidence and knowledge of selling enterprise solutions and develop a consultative sales approach, regardless either the product or service they offer. To this end, training is no specific product or Citrix.
The Partner Academy was launched in 2010 for selected VARs in 21 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and was expanded in 2011 to other 150 partners, who were selected on based on a mix of revenue size and growth potential. Participation in the Academy has seen productivity increase of partners involved a fifth and a significant increase in market size.
The Citrix Partner Academy is composed of two modules each running for two days, led by an independent trainer. The first module aims to inform participants on how to adopt a more consultative approach and understand the business drivers of customers, enabling partners to raise the conversations they have with customers in the meeting room. The second module, expected to begin in early 2012, will focus on developing trusted relationships with key customers to ensure long-term sales opportunities.
The success of an educational program is normally measured on the reaction, learning, behavior and results. While the last points will take some time to become visible, the reaction we have had so far the Elite Partner Academy was fantastic. Our partners have really taken the opportunity to improve their skills and we have gained a fantastic insight into the areas that we could consider contributing to the development of future modules.
