Wednesday, I shared my enthusiasm about our new multi-year strategic alliance with Cisco to enhance the delivery of rich, allowed virtual desktop media on the network. I could not be more excited about the innovations that result from bringing together the best minds in virtualization Citrix stations, with thought leaders in network technologies, voice, video and data centers Cisco.
The impact of this alliance was demonstrated almost immediately by Cisco VXI Cisco announced with Citrix XenDesktop solution, and the new Cisco Wide Area Application Services ™ (WAAS) optimized for Citrix XenDesktop and technology Citrix HDX ™ (the first of many innovations that come from this alliance). Judging from the reactions that I heard from customers to date, they are just as excited about the benefits to enable Cisco networks to deliver a great experience for desktops and Citrix virtual applications. No matter how you look at it, this is a big deal.
As excited as I am about our new Cisco partnership, an important part of our Citrix strategy is to ensure a great experience for customers as they offer desktops and virtual applications over any network any device. Doing this means constantly challenge us to come up with innovations that push the boundaries of creative new ways, and ensure that they are available only basic functionality in our own products.
Today's announcement of our new WAN optimization service for the NetScaler SDX platform is an excellent example. For the first time, Citrix customers will be able to run our own Branch Repeater solution as a virtual service directly on a Citrix NetScaler appliance. During a multithreaded solution, virtualized services, any operator of a common management console. All at incredible levels of performance and throughput. It's a great new solution for Citrix customers and a key element of our tireless efforts to ensure that every Customer Citrix can provide a great experience every user ... whatever the network, platform, device or hypervisor.
This does not diminish our enthusiasm for the Cisco VXI solution and the unique differentiated value it offers its customers. As anyone who has been around this industry for a while knows, Citrix has a rather remarkable record regarding the "enlightened" partnership. Because we constantly remember that this is not about us, it's about the customer.
As I noted in my last post, the main reason for Cisco and Citrix have built such a strong partnership is because of the common culture of focusing on the customer first. This does not just talk about marketing. I spent 10 years at Cisco before joining Citrix, and I can tell you from personal experience that "customer first" mindset is woven into the DNA of both companies, creating a dynamic that is clear in everything we do together. This kind of unusual concentration in this industry, but it is the secret of "enlightened partnerships" that stand the test of time. Whenever large successful business partner, there will be technologies that overlap. When both parties are focused on customer success as Objective 1, these issues tend to disappear in the background.
Cisco and Citrix also share a strong belief that "innovation fuels innovation." When great engineers and developers see new and exciting ideas of others, it encourages them to address their own problems in new means, and ask how they can raise the stakes in the products they are responsible We believe that it will happen here as we continue to work together -. and independently. - to offer a range of differentiated solutions for our mutual customers
Approaching partnerships in this way fosters innovation, choice and better user experiences for customers. At the end of the day, when customers win, we all win.
