Grexit brings Shared / Public folders to Google Apps email (Citrix Startup Accelerator Company) -

Folders and pen on a desk

Grexit Citrix Startup Accelerator is a company.

shared or public folders have been a very popular feature in MS Outlook and Exchange, so they have always been away from Google Apps email. Being able to share email conversations with colleagues is of great value for most email users, and Grexit provides this functionality in Google Apps. And so much better than the shared mail folders as someone familiar with Outlook would know.

You can view Grexit as a public folder for all of your business, where you and your colleagues can easily submit conversations with a single click of a button on your email interface. Adding to Grexit, the whole conversation and attachments are added to Grexit. Not only that, after a conversation is added to Grexit, Grexit automatically keeps track of all the other messages on this conversation and pull them in the version of the conversation in Grexit inside.

Tags shared Grexit make it very easy to hold conversations, and specify access controls on them. For example, you can easily set a record label called "Finance" in Grexit, and provide access to this label for the members of the Finance and Accounting team in your business. After that, when the label "Finance" is applied to a conversation in Grexit, access to see the conversation becomes limited to the Finance and Accounting teams. Using shared labels, it is very easy to create sections in Grexit inside, accessible only to specific people within your company.

Grexit does not stop there, and gives you automation with a feature called Fetch Rules. Using Fetch rules, you can ask Grexit automatically select the specific messaging conversations to the Inbox of people in your company. For example, when your accounting person adds a tag called "bill" a conversation in their inbox, Grexit can automatically pick up his inbox and share it with finance and accounting teams. Future versions of Fetch Rules would support the recovery of conversations based on keywords and recepients. Fetch rules allow you to create a system to automatically pull in relevant messaging conversations and share them with the right people in your business.

Grexit is the easiest way for you and your team to share and archive relevant e-mail communication. Register now to http://grexit.com

NetScaler is Common Criteria what? -

NetScaler is Common Criteria Certified (CCC)! This certification is really almost every year, but it's always exciting to talk later because of all the work that everyone put into it. Some of our engineers went to lunch to celebrate, and some have taken the rest of the day! 😉 Wondering what it means to Common Criteria? Well, here's a wiki link for details.

Not only certified NetScaler, but also other products such as Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, XenServer, etc.

certification information

Citrix Common Criteria is provided in this link. This link provides details on different documents of common criteria for navigation and search procedures in the actual CCC. The entire CCC process is labor intensive and affects many different people in engineering, DevTest, product management, operations and even sometimes of manufacture. Citrix is so committed to providing secure software to our customers that there is a fair dedicated team to Common Criteria Certifcation. A summary of the CCC citrix page, definitely check and disseminate this kindness to customers and partners!

The Common Criteria represents the outcome of efforts to develop criteria for IT security evaluation that are widely useful within the international community. There is an alignment and development of a number of source criteria: the existing European, US and Canadian criteria (ITSEC, TCSEC and CTCPEC respectively). The Common Criteria resolves the conceptual and technical differences between the source criteria. It is a contribution to the development of an international standard, and opens the way for mutual recognition worldwide of the results of the evaluation.

Criteria developments in Canada and the European ITSEC countries follow the original work US TCSEC (Orange Book). The development of US federal criteria was a first attempt to combine these with other criteria TCSEC, and eventually led to the current pooling of resources towards the production of the Common Criteria.

Smartcard authentication for federal clients

Smartcard authentication for federal clients -

Most federal customers have already moved or are planning a move to authentication based on the smart card as their authentication method principal for access to the network domain. Many customers ask whether their CAC or PIV card for authentication will work with Citrix products (Yes, they do!), And if so, how?

Although the majority of this information already exists on our support site KB, this blog entry is a single window for the resources that are most useful for federal clients. We also work on a fully integrated Smartcard integration step by step guide specifically targeted for federal clients.

Environment Assumptions for SmartCard authentication

  • The Active Directory domain must be pre-configured for PKI authentication.
  • Active Directory accounts must be created for card UPN credentials on the Smartcard.
  • last middleware client must be installed on the image VDA or XenApp server (ActiveIdentity, Gemalto, etc.).
  • middleware client must also be installed on the end device.
  • Web Interface, XenApp and XenDesktop components must all be members of the PKI domain configured AD.
  • for best results, use the latest version of the web interface (v5.4.x)

Smartcard authentication for XenApp / XenDesktop
This script is used by most customers deploying XenApp or XenDesktop internally on a secure network.

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX096

All post-XA configuration steps can be used even in a XenDesktop environment. The key point in this article from a viewpoint of the XA configuration is the "trust requests sent to the XML Service." To configure this setting required in a XenDesktop environment please see the details in this article :. CTX132461
This article describes two methods of authentication Smartcard available in the Web interface:

  • Smartcard . Users are prompted once for the selection certificate (Web-based) and PIN twice (once WI, once Windows GINA).
  • Smartcard with Pass-Through. local user credentials are "passed-through" of the endpoint device on the WI site. Users are invited by the WI credentials, users are invited to a PIN the Windows GINA. the endpoint must be a member of the same domain as the web interface for this to work.

Smartcard "pass-thru" authentication from Win7 / Vista parameter
for scenarios that quality for pass-thru (see above) from a Vista endpoint or Win7 (physical or virtual) to access XenApp or XenDesktop

Smartcard "pass-thru" authentication fROM ELDERLY / NetScaler
This script is used by customers deploying XenApp or XenDesktop external users on an unsecured network (Internet), or for users that require SSL encryption traffic ICA / HDX.

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX128418

  • Passes selection CAC / PIN point AGED Logon Web interface.
  • 4.5+ Works with XenApp and XenDesktop 5.0 +.
  • The user is prompted to select a cert times (AGED) and pin twice (once AGED second with Windows GINA screen).
  • can be easily added to environments / existing XenDesktop XenApp.

Single Sign-on (Kerberos) from ELDERLY / NetScaler
This script is used by customers deploying a new XenApp environment to external users on an unsecured network (Internet), or for users that require SSL encryption traffic ICA / HDX.

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX124603

  • Combines true single sign-on with Kerberos authentication for optimized fast connection to a XenApp farm with a Smartcard degree.
  • XenApp 4.5 and older only. Not available for XenDesktop (Kerberos Auth is not currently supported for XenDesktop).
  • The user is prompted once for the certificate and pin by Access Gateway.
  • configuration required Kerberos authentication on XenApp farm and Active Directory. (Can be difficult to add to existing holdings)

This is only three of our most popular deployment methods with SmartCards. There are several other methods and configurations; feel free to use this blog as a unique forum for Smartcard configurations, comments and feedback.

All cool things to start with MMS management applications -

This week at the Microsoft Management Summit (MMS), professionals from around the world will be fired on the cloud System Center 2012, Windows 8 and more. It really sounds great, but how do you implement them in the real world? The easy answer is that it all starts with management applications.

The challenge to attend a special conference will come back to your desk and share what you learned with your manager to justify the trip to Vegas on your expenses. Next Monday, you have to deal with real world problems in your current environment: a Windows 7 deployment, get the virtualization pilot on the ground, facing the new recruits who want to use their latest mobile gadget to access critical applications now leading their jobs. The answer is here again "everything starts with management applications."

If you do nothing else at the expo MMS, stop the Citrix booth to talk about the AppDNA application management software. You saw the MMS AppDNA the last 3 years, but now part of Citrix AppDNA, imagine what may come after. AppDNA can help you with managing the implementation of the challenges you have today - Windows 7, App-V implementation or expansion of your XenApp project -. And help you plan for more on the radar

If you somehow missed the AppDNA software automates application testing and remediation as well as to automate the packaging process of the application. You want to virtualize an application after resolving application compatibility issues? AppDNA software invokes only the Microsoft App-V Sequencer and Citrix XenApp Profiler to create a workable virtual package. Want to plan a migration of the operating system or virtualization deployment? Let management training applications AppDNA software.

AppDNA software uniquely integrates with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Active Directory to display user information, group and machine for managed applications. Determine which organizational groups might be best to drive a new operating system or virtualization technology.

Show the users affected by application compatibility issues
AppDNA application management software integrates only with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Active Directory

This is ideal for managed applications that it sends, but that in all other applications as local users install and perhaps are not monitored by System Center? For unmanaged applications, download a fresh track without 60 days of Lakeside Software SysTrack software Citrix Desktop Transformation Accelerator. AppDNA software can also consume Lakeside user, machine and application information to give you a comprehensive overview of what is happening in the company.

Learn the users, devices and groups impacted by application compatibility issues
AppDNA application management software uses information Lakeside Software SysTrack

Whether a application that has a serious problem of compatibility is used by 10 people or 1000 people. Are these 10 people of your financial team or temporary staff on a project? With AppDNA software, you can determine which is the best working group for a Windows 7 pilot or implementation XenDesktop, according to their applications and severity of application problems.

Use rich AppDNA information to dramatically accelerate projects today, then re-use the application management data for very large ideas MMS. For 300-500 new applications that come into the business every year, use a AppDNA software to test, automatically correct and prepare each application before turning off System Center to deploy.

Estimate the cost of application management, application migration and total cost of ownership, based on your information and application compatibility evaluated by the AppDNA software applications.

If you take care of applications today with a powerful software platform management, precise application, you will be ready with answers when your manager says it's time to plan Windows 8 or move to the cloud

Show your manager that you've learned MMS -. implement AppDNA software to save time, cost and risk in your short-term projects and the management of your critical applications everyday. Having the knowledge to manage applications today for cold future projects are easier to manage. Use your application management expertise to impress the boss -. Guaranteeing a green light to your requests for MMS 2013 budget (despite the $ 6 gelatos Venice on your expense report)

More Pacific 330pm Tuesday through Citrix Presentation -booth, "Activating Windows 7 migration "to the MMS. Discover the AppDNA application management software here and start planning management applications today.

NetScaler 10: ActionAnalytics is the real-time Big Data

NetScaler 10: ActionAnalytics is the real-time Big Data -

NetScaler 10 introduces a number of interesting features. Today we look ActionAnalytics.

I got my first real taste of Big Data when making complex network models to grad school. In a special project, we have been modeled road traffic and calculate how pollution affected the environment. The system will generate data every step of the way and then reuse these data to calculate the next step after taking new entries along the way. The feedback loop was interesting and has changed the way our models reflect not only the data, but the lessons we took away from him.

Good times.

ActionAnalytics remember many of these experiments because the core of the idea is the same. How do you take real-time data being initiated by the system and reuse back into decision making?

For ActionAnalytics the data in real time are the internal flow AppFlow that pass through the system and belt out a connection data volume and detailed application. Normally, the data goes to a third party analysis engine, but with ActionAnalytics we can grab a copy for ourselves and use it to maintain an active state on what is happening in the system. For example, ActionAnalytics can maintain a list of the top 50 URL being accessed in the system so that only certain types of operations can be performed on these objects, but not the other, etc.

For administrators, ActionAnalytics is a means of analysis through the volume of data that flows AppFlow without waiting for post-processing. In making this rich vein of data immediately action, administrators are able to make quick work of establishing rules that work based on the real-time system status instead of having to wait for an administrator to their permit when the time is right.

data that is generated from ActionAnalytics becomes usable in two places: the engine of NetScaler NetScaler integrated policy and management tool. Using the policy engine is particularly interesting because it allows the results of the analysis are circled back and reused in the policy development process. This can become a particularly powerful way to act selectively on the traffic based on real-time conditions such as load. The management tool takes data ActionAnalytics and common graphics tracks by IP addresses, subnets, URLs, domains, among other things quickly. The administrator can then effectively pivot out of the core values and see how the changes in perspective based on specific views. For example, if a single subnet seems to generate a lot of traffic, a quick pivot out of the subnet you can see what URLs are accessible so that overaggressive bot against a DDoS attack can be differentiated.

ActionAnalytics is a game changer

There are many network infrastructure examples expel an abundant amount of data that has in turn created a rich ecosystem of tools that can analyze the data. Everything is big and powerful, but at the end of the day the value of these data is directly proportional to whether or not you can act on it. When you have to wait for the post-treatment of what to do, you've already missed the opportunity to make a difference.

ActionAnalytics changes the rules of what we should expect from the data that comes out of our network infrastructure. The new rule is simple: we should be able to see something happen and immediately have an impact on the way we handle the traffic. This could mean something as simple as connecting a business or something as complex as the conditional rewriting and re-routing of traffic. Anyway, the point is that the action happens immediately.

The next time you are looking at a problem and wish you could capture an event when something happened, think ActionAnalytics and ask yourself how it could help ... Right Now.
