AppFlow is the performance of the basic visibility function implementation supported in NetScaler ADC. AppFlow defines a new segment in which you can extend the visibility aspect all the way from the network layer to the application layer. For visibility at the network most network performance management tools based on NetFlow / IPFIX protocol. AppFlow extends network visibility aspects layer to the application layer extending IPFIX record format to receive information from the application layer. For most application scenarios, you may want to get visibility within the time taken to establish the TCP connection, first byte time, the total time of the transaction, travel time return, the rendering time page load time and other client / server statistics. All these data points can be provided using AppFlow records and data can be exported NetScaler in execution.
So we built this exciting module, it was important for application performance management tools to understand the recording format AppFlow and be able to generate useful reports. So we worked with key suppliers APM as Splunk, etc. Solarwinds, and allowed these tools to understand AppFlow records to track performance at the application level.
When we look at the infrastructure Cloud fastest growth today, there is a clear need for the monitoring and management of performance at all levels. With NetScaler is the first platform network coverage, it adds a lot of value for the visibility factor driven by the AppFlow module within NetScaler. The main areas AppFlow can be useful in your deployment Cloud are:
- Visibility inside the cloud network
- Health surveillance for key components
- access control, auditing and security
- Performance monitoring for key components
- cloud deployment Troubleshooting
