Management Command Center configuration supports running configuration with integrated and custom tasks. integrated tasks are a set of predefined configuration tasks that you can run on one or more managed devices. Whereas the custom tasks are configuration tasks defined by the user you can add in Command Center to perform a defined set of operations on managed devices.
There are two ways to implement these tasks, either by Execute tab or Annex (see Figure 1). Run tab will execute the commands just there and then, while Annex tabwill schedule the task for a later time.
When you implement a task with Run tab , it takes you directly to the Execution Log and allows you to check at that time even if the execution of commands was held successfully. But, when you schedule a job with Schedule tab , you must wait for the time and return the execution logs to ensure that the job was completed successfully or failed.
to meet this need, Command Center facilitates a notification system specifically for Scheduled Tasks .
Command Center fault management system facilitates a very intelligent notification system. The fault management system consists of events, alarms and Syslog.
Trigger Events and alarms are installed that allows the user to set a notification system based on the received traps from managed devices and traps launched by Command Center. Among the traps generated by Command Center, there is a trap set ScheduledTask .
The scheduleTask traps are generated whenever there is a failure to perform scheduled tasks.
As shown in Figure 2 , there are two levels of definition of a trigger. First level is to define a filter and the second level is the definition of an action. When you define a filter, you get to decide the level of parameters that filter SNMP traps received Command Center. This gives you the ability to define filters for your specific needs.
As can be seen from Figure 2 , the parameters are the type of device, traps severity levels, IP address of the unit, objects failure, alarm message, alarm age and the development of this blog Categories .
categories, list the type of traps supported by Command Center. This list of categories, there is a category called scheduleTask. Based on this category, you can trigger a notification by email every time the task was not completed successfully.
Once you select the right type of device, the IP address of the device, failure object with scheduleTask as the category, you just need to add an e-mail notification of action.
With these simple settings, you can schedule your tasks and ensure the execution apt is just in time!
