Earlier this month we reported on a large security hole affecting Windows VPN users. Now called "WebRTC flight", this weakness allows a website to make secret requests to stun servers through WebRTC and around a VPN tunnel to determine the actual IP address of a user. Scary, right? We thought so too, and began working on a fix immediately.
How to fix a leak WebRTC for Good.
Although there was a patch made available as an application of chrome, an update of recent chromium in recent weeks made this unnecessary. Fortunately, users can now breathe a sigh of relief that TorGuard has released an update for Windows Vista / 7/8 users that fixes the leak WebRTC. This update is more than a simple patch and actually solve the root problem in Windows networks.
TorGuard Windows users can now take advantage of this new update by clicking on the update notification on the bottom of lite app TorGuard. This will automatically install our latest version that protects against leakage WebRTC. This is an update you do not want to miss!
Does your VPN provider WebRTC pass the leakage test? TorGuard does.
