The problem is that the customer assumes the Synology VPN port used for OpenVPN. the connection port 1194, when it is actually port 443 (for TorGuard VPN)
to solve this problem, do the following:
1. Download VPN certificate files from TorGuard. http://torguard.net/downloads/TorGuardPRO.zip
2. Open the Control Panel via DiskStation Synology Web UI.
3. Setting up a connection using OpenVPN VPN Client Synology IU. Configure the IP address of the VPN server you want to use, and your username and password. Import the certificate .crt appropriate in the zip file.
4. Once everything is set and saved, try to configure the connection. The connection attempt will fail. Indeed, the port is bad, but it will not tell you.
5. You must now correct the port.
6. Enable telnet access to Diskstation in the Terminal application in the Control Panel.
7. Log in using the root user name and password
8. Go to / usr / syno / etc / synovpnclient / openvpn
9. That is where the configuration files for the VPN connection are stored. If you only set up one, there should be three files: a .crt certificate file, a .cfg configuration file and a file with no extension
10. Copy both files that are not the certificate file in one location. practice on the shared volume on / volume1, so they can be viewed by the file manager and edited from the PC.
11. Amend the two files in something practical like WordPad that sorts carriage returns. In both files the VPN server's IP address followed by the port number. Set the port number is the port number used by the server, in this case 443. The port number can be confirmed by inspecting the relevant .ovpn downloaded file in the zip file.
12. While you have the file open .cfg, ensure redirection gateway setting is set: redirect-gateway = _ON_ This ensures that DNS will work on the VPN and Download Station will be able to access URL tracker
13. once done, save the file and replace it. those in the openvpn folder via telnet.
14. Now, when you access the VPN client user interface and connect, the connection will succeed.
