South Africa considers the alarming new censorship law -

A new censorship law in South Africa is starting to take a broader and more real form . It's a scary law that contains a wide variety of Internet content and gives full control of the board to exercise censorship authority.

The new South Africa censorship law was published by the National Film Board and publication in March 2015 and in August 2015 the South African Cabinet approved the introduction of this amendment of censorship in the parliamentary process. FPB CEO Themba Wakashe think the bill is needed to fight against unwanted content like "racism, child pornography and intimidation."

Of course, as the censorship laws tend to go , there are often significant drawbacks when considering what a "good" amendment like this can accomplish. it has been widely criticized since the "Board shall have the power to order a director of a online platform to take down content that the Commission may consider as potentially dangerous and worrying for children of certain ages. " Not only this statement able to categorize tOUT content, but it is also incredibly vague and erroneous

Restrictions, and good intentions aside, it's hard to support an amendment like this when this section is made a part thereof. "Concerning any other content online, the Council has the power to order an administrator of an online platform to shoot down any content that the Commission may consider as potentially dangerous and worrying for children of certain ages."

If you do not know, the BFP is just trying to give power. Micah Reddy, the Right2Know campaign says it is just a way for the government to "regulate and censor online content," after giving the FPB "power sweep." Other critics like Gareth Cliff think it is very problematic that policymakers use the children as an excuse to enforce censorship on the entire population and to stop freedom of expression.

With such general statements in the amendment which encompasses most forms of media in all, it's a little disturbing to think about what information they will choose to censor if the amendment just passed. It is a very similar situation to corrupt governments that directly censor the bad things people have to say. Without a voice, people become subject to any form of law, they could not agree.

The only good news is that this bill has not been introduced in the parliamentary law, but CEO FBP Wakashe wants the bill to go into effect in April 2016. Now that's bad new.

Fortunately, then it can be difficult to understand the bureaucracy and thinking behind the reasoning of the FPB, it is quite possible to simply bypass any form of censorship protocols they want to use. You can do this using TorGuard VPN, which encrypts all of your Internet traffic and protects you against sniffing packets with deep Stealth VPN. Stealth VPN gives you access to all unlockable content. If you want even more protection, try new feature Stealth Proxy Torguard, when paired with Stealth VPN will you virtually invisible.
