This VPN how-to describes how to connect to an SSTP-based VPN server TorGuard using the Microsoft SSL-VPN client (VPN via HTTPS) which comes with Windows.

MS-SSTP (Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Microsoft) is a VPN protocol that is developed by Microsoft Corporation. This protocol implements PPP over HTTPS (SSL) capsules and all user packets over TCP Thus, it can bypass the firewall, even the strictest blockade or VPN. This means that those behind the Great Firewall of China or Iran can tunnel their Internet connection without fear of it hang. SSTP VPN tunnels are virtually invisible and indistinguishable to a network administrator, it appears that the regular SSL traffic.

First, right-click the icon of the network operator in the system tray and select "Open network and sharing Center".

Select Set up a new connection or network

then select connecting to a workplace as seen below:

Select "Use my Internet connection (VPN)

in nrxt stage we will enter the SSTP VPN server you want to connect. you can find this information on the "My VPN servers" in members torguard.net area. for this example we will connect to "sstp.usa.torguard.org." Click Next.

Then, enter the user name and password TorGuard VPN. This information is separated from the torguard.net the member's area. once the user name and password is entered correctly, click "create".

This will add a new connection option SSTP VPN into the network connection menu. To enable SSTP VPN tunnel, simply click the login button:

This will show the connection menu. First click on the Properties button to check the settings below.

then click the Security tab and under "Type of VPN" select SSTP. Click OK to save.

If user / pass is not already added, enter it and click the login button.

There! You are now connected to SSTP VPN service TorGuard.
