Just as in 2012, using Hotshot Shield VPN to access the CBSsports.com and NCAA.com websites skyrocketed during the NCAA March Madness 2013 tournament basketball. (Figure 1)
CBSsports.com and NCAA.com were two of the few sites that broadcast live games on their online platforms.
This means that the fans of college basketball have been able to experience the games of the tournament on these 2 sites through their computers, tablets or mobile devices -. free
However, if you were stuck at work or school during the broadcast of these games, your IT administrators had probably taken measures to block or prevent the streaming of video content.
Fortunately, there are technologies available to access blocked websites and content. One of the few ways to experience the tournament at work or school is using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), such as the free Hotspot Shield VPN.
Some notable points:
- Similar usage patterns for Hotshot Shield from beginning to end of the tournament in 2012 and 2013 .
- Visits NCAA.com and CBSSports .com by Hotspot Shield VPN increased by an average of 441% (5.4X) between the first and the last game (March 17-April 8, 2013).
- peak usage was in the second of games, when visits by CBSsports.com & NCAA.com Hotshot Shield VPN increased 1927% (20.3X).
