With the company's security flaws occurring more often, there was an increase in identity theft and fraud reported. Hacker AT & T named Andrew Auernheimer, also known as "WEEV", was recently sentenced to 3 years in prison for hacking into the website of the company and 114,000 iPad email leak of the user. Not only does it serve a prison sentence, but must also pay more than $ 73,000 in restitution to AT & T and serve three years probation.
To avoid identity theft, use caution when sharing personal information online. Change your password every few months. Do not open suspicious e-mails because they might contain malicious software. And always use a VPN like Hotspot Shield on your computer, smartphone and tablet to protect you against hackers as "WEEV".
